Dalmatian Jasper, is actually Dalmatian Stone, which is an igneous microcrystalline quartz with a mixture of other minerals creating the speckled look. It does not look like a Jasper. The black spots in Dalmatian Stone are sharply defined while the spots in many Jaspers have a concentric structure or a slightly fuzzy outline.

Dalmatian stone shapes nicely in a rock tumbler in minimal time because it is softer than the agate, quartz and jasper that most people are used to tumbling. The minerals in Dalmatian Stone have a Mohs hardness of about 6, while quartz, agate and jasper have a hardness of 7.

Dalmatian Stone, is typically found and mined in Chihuahua, Mexico. The distinctive gemstone was named "Dalmatian" due to its likeness of the "fire engine" dog. This opaque white stone is spotted with brown and black spots! It is a very fun and childlike stone!

Hardness 6-7

With side drilling, the hole is not visible on the front of the stone and the pendant can easily be hung on any beading wire.

In most cases, Side Drilled is a little thicker than other pendants.

This is a natural stone that has had no treatment other than cutting, drilling, and polishing.
