Agate is a common rock formation, consisting of chalcedony and quartz as its primary components, consisting of a wide variety of colors. Agates are primarily formed within volcanic and metamorphic rocks.

Fire Treated Agate beads, also known as Crackle Agate beads, are created by first dying the natural beads with dyes for desired color. Then applying a heat treatment which creates a "shock" causing it to have a crackle effect. This process enhances the color and creates a visually striking appearance.
